If you’re missing all or some of your natural teeth, a full or partial denture can replace your teeth and revive your smile. Replacing missing teeth has many health benefits. Dentures allow to enjoy a healthy diet of hard-to-chew foods and partials prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of place. In addition, dentures and partials provide support for the facial muscles which contributes to a more youthful appearance.
Dentures
Dentures replace all of the upper and/or lower teeth. If you have a few unhealthy teeth remaining, Dr. Simmons may recommend extraction to prepare you for full dentures. Your dentures will be custom designed, so you can choose the color, shape, and size of your teeth. Dr. Simmons can recreate your original smile or give you the movie-star smile you’ve always wanted.
Partials
Partials fill the gaps left by missing teeth. They contain a few replacement teeth on a gum-colored base. Dr. Simmons will design the teeth to blend seamlessly with your existing dentition. Partials are removable and should be taken out periodically for cleaning.
Implant-Retained Dentures & Partials
Some patients have difficulty adjusting to removable prosthetics. If you’d like to banish denture adhesives and eliminate slipping or clicking dentures, then ask Dr. Simmons about dental implants. These small, titanium tooth roots firmly anchor dentures or partials in the jawbone. Dr. Simmons will carefully examine your medical history and bone density to determine if this is an option for you.
